1. Contract and Annexes

Renting a car in Burkina Faso involves signing a rental contract that clearly defines the terms of the agreement. This includes rental duration, mileage limits, insurance coverage, fuel policy, and vehicle condition. Annexes may also be attached to the contract, detailing additional conditions such as extra services, liabilities, and insurance responsibilities.

2. Driving License and Age

To rent a car, the driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driving license with a minimum of two years’ experience. Local licenses are accepted, but international travelers are encouraged to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP), especially if their license is not in French or English.

3. Payments

Payments can be made via credit card, cash, or mobile money platforms such as Orange Money or Moov. A refundable security deposit may be required at the time of rental, which will be reimbursed after the vehicle is returned in good condition.

4. Delivery

Free delivery is available within Ouagadougou city, including hotels and homes. Airport delivery is also provided. Deliveries outside the city or for one-way rentals may attract an extra fee, depending on distance and logistics.

5. Traffic Fines

The renter is fully responsible for any traffic fines incurred during the rental period. This includes fines for speeding, illegal parking, and other traffic violations. Unpaid fines may be deducted from the security deposit or charged to the renter's payment method.
